Choir numbers vary but we are best described as a mid-sized choir with 40-50 members. Membership costs £60 annually, with music hire – or purchase – being charged for separately, and there are modest additional subscriptions for participation in the Festival and attendance at the Summer Sing. For some programmes, especially for the Christmas Concert and Summer Sing, the Choir has an extensive library of music which is freely available on loan.

New members are of course welcome. Don’t be inhibited by either a lack experience or limited technical ability. Choir members are keen to share their own experience and expertise. And if you are only available for part of the year, or are only attracted by some of the music we perform (the Christmas Concert, for example), please feel free to join us just for this part of our year. You will be most welcome.

And if you fear your great singing days may be behind you, be bold, some of the Choir are not in the first flush of youth.

You don’t have to read music expertly (but it’s a nice bonus for us if you can). You will not face the daunting prospect of an audition.

If you would just like to come along to a couple of rehearsals to see what we are like and whether you feel at home, please feel free to do so.

Rehearsals for the 2019-20 season begin on Tuesday, 10th September, 2018 at 7.30 pm. The first rehearsals will be for the Petersfield Festival performance of two modern works – Benedicite, by Andrew Carter, and Mirror of Perfection by Robert Blackford, first performed in 1989 and 1995 respectively. The performance is planned for March 2020.
